job summary: We are seeking a dependable and technically skilled Voice Operations Technician to support and maintain our voice communications systems and AV infrastructure. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day operations of voice platforms (VoIP, unified communications) and provide technical support for AV systems used in conference rooms. This role requires a service-oriented mindset, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, hands-on environment location: Riverwoods, Illinois job type: Solutions salary: $29 - 30 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: No Degree Required responsibilities: Voice Operations: ● Monitor and support VoIP systems and voice infrastructure ● Support unified communications tools (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc) ● Provides second level incident support for all voice communications systems and services across the enterprise, as assigned to queue, to ensure that service level agreements are met and incidents are appropriately addressed ● Troubleshoot voice call quality and connectivity ● Assist with provisioning and deprovisioning of phones, extensions, and user accounts ● Perform regular checks on voice network performance and escalate complex issues. ● Provisioning and deprovisioning of conference rooms ● Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure QoS and compliance. ● Supporting change management operations Audio Visual (AV) Support: ● Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV systems including, displays, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing equipment. ● Maintain AV equipment inventory and perform routine maintenance checks. ● Respond to and resolve AV-related service escalations qualifications: Job Requirements - Associate degree or vocational training in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience supporting VoIP/voice systems and AV technology. Basic understanding of networking (IP addressing, VLANs, QoS). Experience with common UC platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco WebEx). Familiarity with AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX) and video conferencing hardware (Polycom, Logitech, etc.). Experience managing voice gateways, PBX systems, and SIP trunks Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a technical support team. Effective time management and multitasking skills. Willingness to occasionally work early mornings, evenings, or weekends for event support. Desired Skills & Experience - Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, AVIXA CTS, or vendor-specific credentials (Cisco, Microsoft). Experience working in IT operations or facilities management. Exposure to AV-over-IP or cloud-based UC platforms. Knowledge of ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
