This position also works with customers, provides in and out-of-office technical assistance via telephone for new and existing products. The person in this position may be required to supervise system installations, provide customer training and troubleshoot system problems with different products and controls used in the industrial heat-treating industry.have experience in various materials/metals, heat treat principles, be knowledgeable of heat treating equipment, and oversee the facility with P&L responsibility. Please apply if you're a field technician! location: FRANKLIN, Indiana job type: Permanent salary: $80,000 - 100,000 per year work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: KEY RESPONSIBLITIES: - Commissioning & Start Up of newly installed systems, consisting of electrical/ mechanical setup, checkout, control loop tuning, and operator training. - Routine maintenance of customer systems to include calibration checks, tuning and troubleshooting of operational problems, equipment repair and replacement. - Provides customers with system operations, maintenance, modification, and upgrade recommendations. - Provide post commissioning feedback to Operations that enables continuous improvement of client's execution and product offerings - Work in and around automotive, aerospace, and other industrial manufacturing plants near heavy machinery and high temperature furnaces. REQUIREMENTS: - Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment. - Must be able to work long hours in a hot environment; standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 30 pounds. - This position requires travel to customer sites for design reviews, equipment troubleshooting, and commissioning. Typical travel is approximately 75% - with peaks and lulls. Travel duration for a typical field-call is 3-5 days at a time. Travel for project startups is 5-7 days for smaller projects and can extend longer, but typically would not extend beyond 1-2 weeks. - Applicant must have US passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for commissioning and supporting the products and projects. - Ability to read engineering drawings including Mechanical Assemblies, P&IDs, Control Wiring Diagrams, and Field Wiring Diagrams - Ability to independently use electronic measuring equipment such as multimeters, digital manometers, and gas analyzers; and interpret the data being produced by these devices. - General knowledge of safety requirements in an industrial environment - Ability to write detailed and comprehensive reports after site visits - Meets committed deadlines, and renegotiates before missed - Communicates efficiently and effectively - both internally and with customers - Readily shares knowledge and experience.
