The Manager, Corporate Accounting will lead the core accounting function for a publicly traded organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, SOX compliance and overseeing a team of three accounting professionals. The ideal candidate will combine technical GAAP expertise with a hands-on leadership style to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
- Base Salary: $125,000 - $135,000

responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of three (3) accounting staff members, providing clear direction on daily tasks and professional development.
- Manage the team's productivity to ensure all accounting functions are performed efficiently and according to the corporate financial calendar.
- Conduct regular check-ins and formal annual reviews to ensure the team meets departmental KPIs and accuracy standards.
- Act as the formal reviewer and approver for all manual and recurring journal entries prepared by the staff to ensure proper coding and documentation.
- Oversee the account reconciliation process, performing detailed reviews of all balance sheet accounts to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure all work papers and supporting schedules meet internal and external audit standards, serving as a point of contact for audit inquiries.
- Assist the Director of Accounting, Corporate Controller and CAO in executing the monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring all sub-ledgers are closed and consolidated timely.
- Perform variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Prior Period) to identify and explain fluctuations in financial results during the close.
- Maintain strictly controlled environments by ensuring all "review and approval" internal controls are documented and followed according to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
qualifications:
- Active CPA license is required.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years of direct supervisory experience required.
- Proven experience working within a publicly traded company, with a strong understanding of SEC reporting environments and SOX 404 controls.
- Strong attention to detail with a "zero-defect" mindset for financial review.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage up to a Director and down to a junior team effectively.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
