The Opportunity
The Intake Specialist role works to support the Patient Assistance Program (PAP) through providing initial triaging of patient applications, including data entry and coordination of work through the appropriate channels as determined by established business rules. This is a vital position for a quick learner who can work independently and maintain strong attention to detail while assisting on special projects to improve reimbursement optimization. You will find that agents will work onsite 100% at the company site in North Chicago, where training will also be done onsite to ensure you are fully prepared for the workflow.
This role is ideal for those with strong organizational skills who are ready to perform tasks ranging from managing incoming and outgoing mail to conducting renewal and year-end recertification's process. Because this position supports critical patient needs, the role requires a commitment to a 5 days a week schedule where overtime can range from offered to mandatory. Working at this professional site provides the opportunity to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications while ensuring all patient cases are documented in the CRM in accordance with all business rules and policies.

responsibilities:
- Intake & Data Entry: Completes the intake process of all applications into Customer Relationship Management System (CRM).
- Imaging & Tagging: Associates and tags all images to the patient and data enters patient demographic, physician, drug, income, household, and insurance information.
- Initial Assessment: Conducts initial assessment of application for missing information and completes missing information patient outreach process to obtain required data.
- Workflow Management: Identify appropriate work flow based upon business rules and identify initial assessment of simplified applications.
- Documentation: Ensure all patient cases are documented in the CRM in accordance with all business rules and policies.
- Collaboration: Collaborate cross functionally to ensure processes are followed according to business rules and policies.
- Program Maintenance: Conduct renewal and year end recertification's process as determined by the Company Patient Assistance Program and manage incoming and outgoing mail.

Required Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years' experience within an office or administrative setting.
- Physical: Ability to sit, stand, and carry heavy objects.
- Technical: Computer proficiency and the ability to be a quick learner with data entry.
- Functional: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and ability to work independently.
- Communication: Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
- Availability: Flexible to work an 8.5 hour shift between 7am-7pm and commit to no time off in the first 90 days.
- Education: College or a 2-year Associate Degree is preferred.
- Knowledge: Exposure to core insurance (Medical and Pharmacy Benefit) knowledge a plus.
- Service: High quality customer service skills.
