responsibilities:
- Conduct end-to-end case analysis, interpretation, and reporting for clinical whole genome sequencing tests, including TruGenome Undiagnosed Disease and Cardiovascular Disease tests.
- Review medical notes and phenotyping data to perform variant analysis, triaging, and gene curation.
- Synthesize and contextualize genetic results with patient profiles to draft clinical report language.
- Evaluate analytical and clinical characteristics of genetic variants using critical problem-solving strategies.
- Analyze clinical literature to translate findings directly to patient cases.
qualifications:
Required:
- Advanced Degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Biological Sciences.
- 2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with ClinGen Sequence Variant Interpretation Working Group and Expert Panel modifications.
- Basic understanding of bioinformatics approaches to clinical genome analysis.
- Proficiency in applying ACMG/AMP guidelines for SNVs, small insertions/deletions, and mitochondrial DNA SNVs.
- Proficiency in ACMG/ClinGen standards for copy number variants (CNVs).
- Strong understanding of genotype-phenotype relationships and clinical applications of genetic data.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate medical/scientific literature and manage time-sensitive case loads.
