A leading power utility organization in Tucker, GA is seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer for a long-term contract role supporting critical power infrastructure. In this position, you'll help design, implement, and maintain SCADA systems that ensure safe and reliable power delivery to millions of customers.Position based in Tucker GA office with travel in the state of Georgia as needed.

responsibilities:

System Design & Integration: Design and integrate SCADA systems into substations and power plants to support monitoring and control functions.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with SCADA hardware, software, and networks, ensuring minimal downtime.

Data Management & Security: Maintain integrity and security of data transmitted through SCADA networks, complying with all regulatory and cybersecurity standards.

System Optimization: Analyze system data to enhance performance and improve operational efficiency.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure SCADA systems meet project requirements and operational goals.

Commissioning: Support commissioning and startup activities for new substations and power generation facilities.



Required Skills & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  
  
  
  
• SCADA Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with SCADA protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, as well as RTUs, PLCs, and SCADA software platforms.
  
  
  
  
• Network Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of network design, security principles, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  
  
  
  
• Power Systems Experience: Familiarity with electrical power systems, including protection and control systems, and substation equipment.
  
  
  
  
• Communication Skills: strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
