Join a growing team in a well known company with the medical device industry as a mechanical engineering technician on their R&D team in San Jose, CA. This role will work closely with the engineering team on various projects and will ensure manufacturability on new designs and products. Ideal candidates will have a solid mechanical background and ideally have worked in an R&D setting. This is a contract role that could lead to a long term role with the company.

responsibilities:
- Perform measurement and mechanical testing using standard and non-standard mechanical testing equipment
- Document findings in accordance to company standards and compliance
- Maintain records, follow work instructions, and ensure safety standards
- Work extremely close with engineering team to ensure manufacturability of new product or existing product with new design
- Must have 3+ years of hands on mechanical experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within an R&D team
- Must be able to work independently and with a team with very good communication
