Growing manufacturer in eastern Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing and a degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. IATF 16949 familiarity is required, certification preferred. This is a highly visible position which is responsibile for leading the IATF16949 compliant program and will work closely with a junior Quality Engineer as well as a team of lab technicians. responsibilities:
- Lead the company's IATF16949 compliant program ensuring manufactured products achieve superior quality and reliability levels
- Ensure all the Quality Assurance Systems are fully implemented and monitored and the Quality Control Procedure and Practice are standardized and followed
- Develop and submit PPAP documents for new product launches and/or modifications to existing products
- Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems
- Help drive the culture of excellence and improvement throughout organization
- Lead and facilitate the use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action
- Apply problem solving techniques (8D, 5-Why, FMEA, GR&R, etc.) and advanced statistical methods
- Lead the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and maintain control plans
- Lead supplier audits and drive continual improvements
- Determine and apply appropriate Measurement System Analysis tools
- Devise and maintain audit schedules
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar, will consider 7+ years of Quality experience if no degree
- 5-8 years of experience in an IATF16949 certified organization
- Internal/external IATF 16949 auditing certification is desired.
- Expert skills in Minitab desired as well as core tools methods
- Six sigma background desired
- Data driven, analytical mindset
- Ability to engage with customers and suppliers on special projects and/or failure analysis by providing detailed analytical analysis and reports
