A Senior Marine Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. This role is responsible for the design, analysis, and construction support of heavy-duty waterfront infrastructure.

responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of complex marine facilities including ports, terminals, wharfs, piers, and mooring systems.
- Serve as the Responsible Engineer for breasting dolphins, mooring dolphins, and steel structures like piperacks and walkways.
- Perform advanced structural and geotechnical calculations for foundations, including sheet pile and king pile bulkhead walls.
- Execute mooring and berthing analysis, accounting for environmental loads like waves and currents.
- Review and approve field design changes to resolve construction issues and maintain structural integrity.
- Provide technical oversight for modular dolphin transportation, including load-out and load-in installation activities.
- Manage the review of vendor prints, rebar detailing, and steel connection designs (bolted and welded).
- Interface with construction teams to interpret design documents and ensure ease of constructability.
- Conduct forensic reviews of existing designs and inspection reports to assess pile damage and structural health.
- Ensure all designs comply with international coastal design codes and standards across greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Proficient in Structural calculation, steel connection details (bolted and welded) and concrete design.
- Experience in the design of sheet pile and king pile bulkhead walls.
- Proficient with commercial software such as STAAD Pro, SACS, FB-Pier, L-Pile, MathCAD, OPTIMOOR, or similar programs.
- strong analytical skills in advanced structural and geotechnical design for marine/offshore structures and foundations. Good knowledge of wave and current loadings and mooring/berthing systems.
- Proficient in Structural calculation, steel connection details (bolted and welded) and concrete design.
- Experience in the design of sheet pile and king pile bulkhead walls.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards related to marine and coastal design.
- BSCE or related discipline from an accredited University,
- Masters' degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of design experience in design of marine structures, such as ports, terminals, wharfs, piers, bulkheads, breakwaters, berthing and mooring systems, foundations.
- PE Registration required.
