The QA/QC Manager is responsible for the leadership, implementation, and management of the Project-Specific Quality Management Plan. You will ensure that all construction activities meet or exceed contract specifications, building codes, and industry standards. This role requires a proactive approach to preventing rework through rigorous pre-planning, detailed inspections, and clear communication with all project stakeholders. responsibilities:
- Quality Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive Quality Management Plans (QMP) and "Definable Features of Work" (DFOW) for complex projects.
- The Three-Phase Inspection System: Preparatory Phase: Lead pre-construction meetings to review submittals, materials, and workmanship standards before work begins.
- Initial Phase: Inspect the first representative portion of work to ensure it meets the established quality benchmarks.
- Follow-up Phase: Conduct daily audits of ongoing work to ensure continued compliance and safety standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed QC reports, including daily logs, Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and Corrective Action reports.
- Subcontractor Oversight: Review subcontractor quality plans and oversee their field execution to ensure alignment with the master project schedule and quality goals.
- Technical Reviews: Review shop drawings, RFI responses, and submittals for constructability and adherence to design intent.
- Commissioning Support: Coordinate with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams and third-party inspectors during the final testing and commissioning phases.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in construction quality management, specifically within large-scale commercial or industrial sectors, with at least 2 of those holding managerial responsibilities
- Experience with ground-up to turnover large construction projects
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Procore, Office Suite, or similar project management software.
- Knowledge of IBC (International Building Code) and ASTM standards
- Comfortable working at least 5 hours of overtime per week on salary
- Comfortable being out in the field at least 60% of the time
- OSHA 30 is preferred but desire to obtain is required
