An Electrical HVAC Technical Support Engineer is needed for a leading cooling technology organization in the Greenville, SC area. The Electrical Field Service Engineer is responsible for focusing on the electrical commissioning and troubleshooting of large-scale cooling systems. You are responsible for diagnosing deep-level electrical malfunctions, providing guidance on control logic, and ensuring that critical customer systems achieve final acceptance testing.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in electrical design or technical support for commercial HVAC systems. You must be proficient in industrial PLC fundamentals, control cabinets, and the electrical logic of large chillers. This role requires a self-driven leader who can thrive in a high-pressure startup environment and adapt to occasional urgent travel. Candidates can work in a remote or hybrid capacity. 25% travel can be expected.

responsibilities:
- Resolve complex electrical issues involving sensors, drives, wiring, and PLC control logic to minimize system downtime
- Provide rapid on-site and remote technical guidance for installations and emergency repairs at major project sites
- Lead investigations into major service incidents, drafting detailed technical reports to drive product improvements.
- Serve as a technical mentor to junior engineers, developing troubleshooting guides and conducting internal workshops
- Build technical relationships with key clients, translating complex electrical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Systematize field data to refine technical service manuals, fault code libraries, and standard operating procedures
