Engineering Manager needed for an immediate direct hire role in the Chelmsford, MA area! This person will be managing engineering personnel and project activities that will meet project deliverables, driving common practices for project engineering, design, NPD estimating as well as improving efficiencies around the current ERP system.
The best person for this role is a degreed engineer with a minimum of 7+ years of related engineering leadership experience in a metal fabrication environment. This person will also share technical input on new client estimates and on the development of new engineering personnel. Key to success in the role is the desire to drive continuous improvement through value engineering methodologies.

responsibilities:
- Drive project engineering, design, NPD estimating as well as improving efficienclies around the current ERP system
- Manage engineering personnel and project activities that will meet project deliverables
- Develop revision controlled BOM structures, configuration control, methods, use of instructions, and process design
- Manage scheduled plans, engineer staffing, goals, and projects for team
- Provide technical presentations to existing and new customers or vendors where required
- Oversee new project execution and NPD from initial process design through first article shipment, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
- Manage engineering personnel meeting project deliverables, and well as develop best team practices
- BS degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 7+ years related engineering leadership experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to completely manage a project from start to finish for on time
- Proven experience of strategic planning and demonstrated problem solving skills and desire to grow in the role and apply new technologies
- Familiar with typical fabrication processes such as sheet metal forming, rolling, assembly, welding, heat treating, machining
- Proficient in SolidWorks and MS Office products
- Proven self-starter with a willingness to take ownership and initiative on multiple projects
- Possess' exceptional communication skills with the ability to mentor, train team to best practices
