We are seeking a high-caliber International Trade Compliance Manager to serve as the primary architect and gatekeeper of our global trade operations. This is a direct hire opportunity located in Georgetown TX. In this strategic role, you will bridge the gap between complex legal mandates and day-to-day business execution, ensuring our international growth is both aggressive and compliant.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of ITAR, EAR, and OFAC compliance. This is not just a desk role; you will actively classify products, secure export authorizations, and manage critical relationships with government agencies and customs brokers. You will be the definitive voice in evaluating compliance risks and making defensible decisions that protect the organization's reputation and bottom line.

responsibilities:
- Regulatory Oversight: Manage and execute all aspects of international trade compliance, including export controls, import regulations, and global trade management.
- Classification & Licensing: Perform hands-on product classification under EAR and ITAR. Prepare, submit, and manage all necessary export licenses, technical assistance agreements, and government authorizations.
- Program Development: Design, implement, and audit internal trade compliance programs (ICP) to mitigate risk and ensure "best-in-class" operational standards.
- Transactional Management: Analyze and oversee complex import/export transactions, ensuring all documentation and regulatory filings are accurate and timely.
- External Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies (CBP, BIS, DDTC, etc.).
- Business Advisory: Act as an internal consultant to Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, providing clear guidance on sanctions, restricted party screening, and shipping requirements.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (or 11+ years of equivalent professional experience).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in international trade compliance or export controls.
- Direct, hands-on experience with ITAR, EAR, OFAC sanctions, and Foreign Trade Regulations.
- Proven track record of managing complex licensing and regulatory filings.
- Experience auditing compliance programs and identifying areas for process improvement.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (IFS experience is a significant plus)
- Advanced mastery of Microsoft Office Suite.
