A Mechanical Design Engineer is needed for an energy equipment manufacturing and services company in the Greenville, SC area. This is a specialized role focused on the design, manufacturing qualification, and non-conformance dispositioning of gas turbine hot gas path components using NX, Ansys, and GD&T.

responsibilities:
- Designs and assesses gas turbine hardware, specifically focusing on hot gas path (HGP) rotating machinery components.
- Dispositions hardware non-conformances by applying mechanical engineering assessments to deviating parts.
- Partners with Global Supply Chain to drive continuous improvements and maintain high quality standards.
- Supports hardware qualifications for new manufacturing processes, equipment, and design changes.
- Implements Design for Producibility and Concurrent Engineering principles to enhance part functionality and reduce costs.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams on special processes such as castings, coatings, and hole drilling.
- Relevant mechanical engineering experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery, specifically hot gas path components.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings.
- Previous non-conformance dispositioning experience of deviating hardware by applying mechanical engineering assessments.
- Familiar with Ansys, NX, and other analytical tools.
- Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
- strong organizational and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
