As a Transportation Planning Manager in Tustin, CA, you will lead our client's planning department and mentor a talented team of professionals. This pivotal role involves overseeing diverse projects for Caltrans and local municipalities, ranging from technical execution to strategic project oversight. You will drive business development and maintain key client relationships to ensure continued success across Southern California.

responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level planners, providing technical guidance and career development support.
- Project Management: Oversee the scope, schedule, and budget for Traffic Impact Studies, TMPs, parking analyses, and multi-modal corridor studies.
- Business Development: Identify new opportunities, lead proposal efforts, and represent the firm at industry events and client interviews.
- Quality Control: Perform senior-level technical reviews of traffic models (Synchro, VISSIM) and reports to ensure accuracy and agency compliance.
- Agency Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for Caltrans and municipal clients to ensure project alignment and approval.
- Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in transportation planning, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Education & Licensing: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning; must be a Registered CA Civil P.E. or T.E.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and VMT analysis, including familiarity with CEQA/NEPA and Caltrans processes.
- Communication: Exceptional written and oral skills with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical Tools: Proficiency with regional travel demand models; experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or PS&E preparation is a plus.
