A Project Controls Coordinator is needed for a company that transports, distributes and generates energy, with diversified assets that include a balance between crude oil and natural gas in the Duluth, MN area. This job manages cost and schedule functions for engineering and construction projects up to $25 million by developing execution plans, ensuring quality control of deliverables, and integrating resource requirements across the project lifecycle.

responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the development of the overall Project Execution Plan.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of project controls deliverables.
- Generate cost reports and perform cost variance analysis.
- Create cash flow reports and perform variance analysis.
- Manage schedule reports and conduct schedule variance analysis.
- Implement project change management procedures.
- Develop and maintain the Project Controls Plan.
- Produce monthly progress reports.
- Integrate cost control and scheduling functions into a single seamless team.
- Define the specific project controls resource requirements for each project.
- Perform quality control on all deliverables to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Lead the coordination and collection of deliverables for Phase Gate Review meetings per the 6-Phase Project Lifecycle.
- Provide feedback to functional groups regarding the implementation of new tools, processes, or procedures based on field experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Four to five years of specific related experience.
- Candidates with a range of 3 to 10 years of experience will be considered.
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix organizational structure.
- Specific knowledge of scheduling and cost processes related to pipeline and plant facility projects.
- Familiarity with best management practices for project scheduling and cost control.
- Ability to understand and implement specialized processes for project controls.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a reasonable level of supervision.
- strong communication and interaction skills within a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Advanced computer skills specifically using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server.
