responsibilities:
- Prepare samples for experiments and optimize transmission electron microscope (TEM) lamella preparation using a focused ion beam (FIB).
- Operate and maintain lab metrology equipment, including SEM, FIB, and TEM systems, to analyze critical dimensions and capture high-quality imaging.
- Interface with engineers and requestors to clearly understand project requirements, communicate results, and monitor job queues to maximize lab throughput.
- Solve atypical operational problems, create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and document lessons learned to minimize redo rates.
- Track and upload metrology data, order necessary lab supplies, and provide informal guidance to junior team members to help achieve team objectives.
