responsibilities:
- Own all phases of process equipment design, from initial problem statement and conceptualization through to detailed design and drawing packages.
- Direct the procurement phase for custom equipment, work closely with machine shops, and actively oversee the physical assembly and installation.
- Provide hands-on support for the start-up and debugging of mechanical equipment within an early-stage development environment.
- Utilize mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and machine design to build, optimize, and operate various types of machinery.
- Work independently with minimal direction while collaborating with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team (including electrical, controls, IT, and operations) to develop robust engineering solutions.
