The Director of Engineering would be responsible for responsible for setting clear goals and establishing daily priorities to ensure successful operational execution. The role involves actively managing personnel and developing schedules that align with project deadlines while effectively resolving problems as they arise. Central to this position is a deep understanding of budgeting, resource management, safety, and training, which informs the execution of team-based initiatives. Ultimately, the role translates strategic goals into actionable team efforts while maintaining a strict focus on organizational standards and fiscal responsibility.

responsibilities:
- Personnel Readiness: Ensure all staff are equipped with the training, tools, and knowledge required for their specific roles.
- Workflow Optimization: Develop and enforce procedures and policies to promote efficient engineering operations.
- Workload Delegation: Empower direct reports to prioritize and schedule assignments to meet budgetary and performance targets.
- Technical Oversight: Advise management on project status and potential engineering obstacles to ensure adequate resource allocation.
- Mentorship: Lead and mentor direct reports to build their management, ethical standards, and decision-making capabilities.
- Training & Evaluation: Plan and oversee professional development and self-evaluation opportunities for all section personnel.
- Talent Acquisition: Review applications and participate in hiring efforts for new personnel and independent contractors.
- Performance Monitoring: Facilitate regular section meetings to assess progress on current jobs and projects.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all operations comply with industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems.
- Safety Training: Guarantee that all employees are trained in methods required to meet organizational safety and quality standards.
