A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Materials Engineer - Rubber & Elastomers to join their dynamic team in Allentown, PA! In this role, you will serve as the premier technical authority on cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) teams, guiding projects from conception to launch. Operating out of an elite design division, you will lead hands-on compound formulation, drive critical polymer testing, and spearhead advanced failure analysis investigations to ensure product excellence.

responsibilities:
- Serve as the sole Materials Expert on individual, cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) project teams alongside Project Managers, Quality Engineers, and Marketing personnel.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise on materials, guiding the project team through component selection, formulation, and application challenges.
- Manage and execute critical material testing and comprehensive failure analysis on polymers to ensure product reliability and performance..
- Oversees and refines rubber and elastomer compound formulation and processing methods throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Collaborates closely with non-technical stakeholders to translate complex material capabilities into actionable project milestones and marketing specifications.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in rubber and elastomer compound formulation and processing.
- Requires 5+ years of combined experience executing material testing and comprehensive failure analysis on polymers.
- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Polymer Engineering.
