Our client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Proposal Engineer to design and develop comprehensive, competitive technical proposals for high-value CNC machine tools, turnkey manufacturing systems, and advanced automation solutions.
In this dynamic role, you are much more than a writer-you are an engineering architect. Working closely with Sales, Application Engineering, Product Management, and external suppliers, you will analyze unique customer manufacturing requirements to create technically precise, highly competitive proposals. You will serve as the core technical resource during the pre-sale phase, developing machining concepts, estimating project scope, and coordinating key supplier partnerships.

responsibilities:
- Architect Technical Solutions: Develop comprehensive technical proposals for CNC turning centers, machining centers, turnkey manufacturing systems, and automation packages.
- Analyze Technical Specifications: Review customer RFQs, engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing processes to identify and recommend optimal machine configurations.
- Design Machining Concepts: Brainstorm and design complete machining concepts, including workholding, cutting tools, custom fixturing, and automation layouts.
- Coordinate Supply Partners: Collaborate with internal engineering departments, sales personnel, and external vendors to secure precise technical data and project quotes.
- Produce High-End Proposal Assets: Draft highly detailed, professional proposal documentation outlining the scope of supply, custom pricing, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Utilize CAD Layouts: Draft accurate proposal drawings, physical machine layouts, and custom concept designs using AutoCAD.
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in machine tool applications engineering, proposal development, manufacturing engineering, or related technical sales support.
- Technical Mastery:
- Direct experience designing proposals or systems for CNC machinery, turnkeys, or industrial automation.
- Technical understanding of CNC turning and machining center technology.
- Expert ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Direct experience designing proposals or systems for CNC machinery, turnkeys, or industrial automation.
- Software Tools: Proficiency with AutoCAD (SolidWorks or other 3D CAD platforms is a plus) and advanced skills in MS Office (especially Excel and Word).
