A Senior Manufacturing Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization outside of Greensboro, NC. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading pre-production trial activities and problem-solving efforts. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role drives the advancement of conditions for good process and product across manufacturing lines to ensure high-quality production standards. You will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize cell assembly, execute material trials, and deliver engineering solutions through root-cause analysis and Lean practices.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field with 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in production preparation. Experience in battery cell manufacturing-specifically winding, cell assembly, and electrolyte filling-is highly preferred. Problem-solving abilities, familiarity with battery chemistry, and willingness to travel up to 15% including international travel are essential.

responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional pre-production trial plans using Lean methods to drive root-cause issue resolution
- Diagnose and resolve complex material, product, and process issues across battery cell assembly and finishing processes
- Evaluate cell performance and validate battery chemistry using analytical tools and quality assurance functions
- Provide technical input on equipment and process specifications to ensure continuous improvement and prevent issue reoccurrence
- Generate detailed technical reports and mentor team members on battery trial execution, data analysis, and process standardization
- Collaborate with internal teams and international equipment vendors, travel to vendor sites as needed to test and validate equipment
