Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer III in Dulles, VA to lead, design, and engineer complex mechanical systems for mission-critical data center projects. In this hybrid role (1-2 days remote per week), you will drive technical solutions, perform advanced calculations, and mentor junior engineering talent within a fast-paced, employee-owned environment.

responsibilities:
- Lead the design, sizing, and engineering of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for new and existing data center facilities.
- Perform complex calculations including heating and cooling loads, equipment selection, friction loss, and hydraulic systems.
- Direct workflow, mentor less-experienced engineers, and establish methods for design reviews and inspections.
- Write technical narratives, address RFIs, and resolve ongoing complex engineering
