responsibilities:
- Conduct the design, evaluation, modification, and implementation of manufacturing fixtures, jigs, gauges, and tooling used across production operations.
- Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and bills of materials using SolidWorks to support fabrication and assembly.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers, operators, and technicians to translate shop-floor needs into practical, ergonomic, and mistake-proofing concepts.
- Coordinate the procurement and fabrication of tooling components through internal machine shops, external suppliers, and additive manufacturing.
- Support the assembly, installation, testing, and continuous improvement of completed fixtures on the manufacturing floor.
qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks for part modeling, assemblies, detailed drawings, dimensioning, and PDM revision control.
Working knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, tolerances, fits, materials, and common mechanical manufacturing processes.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate prototypes and transform informal feedback into controlled production designs.
