Responsibilities
As an HR Specialist, you will act as a vital link between management and employees, ensuring smooth operations and compliance. Your core duties include:
- Talent Acquisition: Managing the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting jobs, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews for various site locations.
- Onboarding & Compliance: Leading orientation for new hires and ensuring all background checks, medical clearances, and employment documentation are completed per regulatory standards.
- Employee Relations: Serving as a primary point of contact for staff inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and workplace procedures.
- HRIS Management: Maintaining accurate employee records and processing updates within the HR database to ensure data integrity for payroll and reporting.
- Performance Support: Assisting leadership with the performance evaluation process and providing guidance on best practices for staff development.
- Policy Implementation: Ensuring all activities align with federal and local labor laws as well as the unique safety requirements of a youth-focused organization.
- Experience: 3+ years of HR experience (non-profit or education sector preferred).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with mid-to-large scale HRIS platforms and recruitment software.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and the ability to handle sensitive information with total discretion.
