Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the hiring pipeline for skilled trade positions (Machine Operators, Assemblers, Quality Inspector). Conduct orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Employee Relations & Equity: Act as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns. Ensure company policies, scheduling, and performance metrics are applied fairly and consistently across all shifts.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with federal, state (CT), and OSHA manufacturing safety guidelines.
- Payroll & Benefits Support: Assist with weekly/bi-weekly hourly time tracking, payroll processing prep, and basic benefits administration.
- Policy Support: Review and update the employee handbook to align with current Connecticut labor laws and company growth.
- Experience: 3+ years of HR experience. Experience working within a manufacturing, industrial, or hourly-wage environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge: strong understanding of Connecticut labor laws and general HR best practices.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to connect easily with both leadership and floor staff.
- Independence: Highly organized and comfortable acting as the sole HR presence on-site.
