Responsibilities
Position Summary: Maintain and coordinate complex scheduling logistics for specialized procedures within an assigned hospital department. This on-site, non-clinical role focuses heavily on verifying room and equipment availability, managing general clerical tasks, and protecting patient data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and build specialized procedure schedules with physicians' offices, patients, and interdepartmental clinical teams.
- Verify surgical room, equipment, and staff availability to prevent scheduling conflicts and care delays.
- Handle daily front-office clerical logistics, including answering incoming calls, greeting clinical visitors, and updating electronic files.
- Input, update, and maintain meticulous, job-related documentation and patient tracking schedules.
- Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal regulatory codes to maintain the absolute privacy and security of patient Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent educational document (equivalent work experience will be accepted in lieu of a formal degree).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent, relevant experience in a medical scheduling or healthcare administrative role.
- Robust knowledge of medical terminology, including a general understanding of diagnostic tests, surgeries, and specialized clinical consultations.
