The ideal candidate will bring 12–15 years of progressive experience, combining deep technical accounting rigor with the operational capability to manage complex financial reporting across decentralized, nationwide business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Accounting Leadership: Direct all core accounting functions across multiple US sites, including GL, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Financial Reporting & GAAP Compliance: Oversee the consolidation of multi-entity financial statements, ensuring flawless adherence to US GAAP and timely month-end/year-end closes.
- Multi-Site Controls: Standardize, implement, and monitor robust internal control policies and procedures across all geographic locations to safeguard company assets.
- Audit & Tax Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax advisors, leveraging public accounting expertise to streamline the annual audit process.
- Cash & Treasury Management: Manage nationwide cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital requirements for a $500M enterprise.
- Team Development: Mentor and lead a high-performing centralized corporate accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Active CPA license is strictly required.
- Professional Background: Must have foundational experience in Public Accounting (Big 4 or regional mid-tier preferred).
- Experience: 12–15 years of progressive corporate accounting experience, with a proven track record as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
- Scale & Scope: Demonstrated experience working within a company generating at least $250 million in annual revenue.
- Operational Expertise: Proven capability managing the accounting nuances of a multi-site, nationwide operational structure.
- Technical Focus: Highly accounting-centric mindset with deep expertise in complex consolidations, intercompany transactions, and financial systems.
- Location: Must be based in or willing to commute to the Houston, TX office.
