Responsibilities
- Month-End Close: Assist the accounting team with the execution of the monthly and year-end financial close process, including journal entry preparation, account accruals, and balance sheet/bank account reconciliations.
- Daily Revenue Reconciliation: Review and reconcile daily gaming revenue streams (including Simulcast, Historical Horse Racing (HHR), and Kiosk/ATM cash activity) against tote systems and internal Cage deposits.
- Operational Auditing: Reconcile Food & Beverage point-of-sale (POS) revenue to the Cage daily, investigating variances and issuing cashier over/short reports.
- Tax & Licensing Compliance: Assist in the preparation and accurate filing of monthly/annual local and state operational tax returns (including sales tax, liquor tax) and regulatory licensing renewals (alcohol, business, and unclaimed Pari-Mutuel ticket remittances).
- Transactional Maintenance: Enter all vendor invoices into the Accounts Payable module daily. Log miscellaneous checks, deposits, bank transfers, and tax payments into the Sage Accounting system.
- Collaboration: Maintain professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with property managers, cashiers, supervisors, and external vendors to quickly resolve audit or invoice discrepancies.
