Responsibilities
- Loan Processing & Closing: Manage home equity loan files from origination through closing. Obtain required borrower documentation, initiate vendor contact, process disclosures, and prepare final closing documents.
- Product Expertise: Act as the internal home equity expert, providing tailored product information based on individual borrower needs and financial profiles.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all loan processing strictly adheres to established internal guidelines and federal regulations, including RESPA and TILA.
- System Management: Utilize financial software platforms to maintain, update, and support existing home equity files with high accuracy.
- Underwriting Support: Review, read, and interpret borrower credit reports and supporting financial data to facilitate smooth underwriting and funding processes.
- Member Service: Maintain clear, professional, and service-focused communication with internal lending teams, members, and third-party vendors to meet production goals.
Position Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of home equity or mortgage loan processing experience (credit union or banking environment preferred).
- Knowledge of consumer loan underwriting, documentation, and funding requirements.
- Prior experience using MeridianLink and Symitar is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Desire for long-term permanent placement and the ability to work independently with minimal training.
