Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Facilitate seamless patient access to care by performing accurate registration and pre-registration for outpatient and inpatient accounts. This role calculates and secures upfront patient liabilities, including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles, in an efficient and hospitable manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete 20 to 30+ detailed patient registrations per 8-hour shift.
- Perform comprehensive insurance verification and accurately secure upfront collections.
- Scan clinical documentation and update accounts within the electronic database.
- Verify patients are appropriately screened and stabilized before discussing admission consent or liability.
- Navigate multiple computer screens efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a medical front office, billing, or hospital registration environment (prior registration experience is mandatory).
- 2+ years of experience managing insurance verification or hospital billing workflows.
