Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Facilitate patient access by performing complete registration and pre-registration for outpatient and inpatient accounts. Secure upfront patient liabilities including copays, coinsurance, and deductibles efficiently and hospitably.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete 20 to 30+ detailed patient registrations or 35 pre-registrations per 8-hour shift.
- Warmly greet patients, verify demographic details, and perform thorough insurance verification.
- Calculate patient financial responsibility and collect copayments or liability payments.
- Screen uninsured patients for Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) or Uncompensated Care programs.
- Scan medical orders, authorizations, and identification into electronic database systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in a high-volume healthcare facility, medical office, or billing environment.
- strong computer skills, multi-screen navigation capability, and typing speed of 45+ WPM.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance required.
