ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Financial Records & Accounting Specialist to join our team. In this key role, you will oversee essential fiscal operations: from fund balance monitoring and accounts processing to discrepancy research and GAAP compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university; OR 1–2 years of related financial/accounting experience and training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Software Proficiency:
- Financial/ERP Systems: Skyward Accounting (Database, Order Processing, Payroll) or similar software.
- Office Suite: Excel, Word, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail Contact Systems.

- Mathematical & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in financial calculations, ratios, percentages, and problem-solving with concrete variables.
- Communication: Ability to write clear reports, read procedure manuals, and present data effectively to stakeholders.
- Mostly desk-based work involving sitting, typing, and standard computer use.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 10–25 lbs.
- Quiet office environment.

Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial & Compliance Documentation: Maintain up-to-date, auditable records (including data records, contracts, and fiscal files) to ensure complete compliance.
- Fund & Budget Monitoring: Monitor fund balances and financial activity across assigned programs to ensure accurate allocations, proper revenue generation, and adherence to budget limits.
- Fiscal Processing & Oversight: Supervise and execute core accounting processes—including AP, AR, and attendance accounting—in strict alignment with GAAP guidelines.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Research financial discrepancies to verify accounts payable vouchers and enforce operational compliance.
- Inquiry Management: Act as a key resource to resolve internal and external financial inquiries efficiently with actionable solutions.
- Collaborative Support: Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to gather and convey crucial financial data across departments.
