Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Register, schedule, and process insurance authorizations for patients across emergency and hospital departments while maintaining high data entry accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secure demographic and insurance information to register and schedule patients.
- Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and obtain necessary service authorizations.
- Interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare staff to provide high-quality support.
- Utilize Epic EMR and computer systems to log and maintain accurate patient records.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience (or 1 year in a specialized patient access/call center role).
- Direct experience working in a fast-paced hospital or Emergency Department setting.
- Knowledge of managed care plans, medical terminology, and insurance verification.
- Proficiency with computer data entry and Epic EMR systems.
