In this contract-to-hire opportunity, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy of the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI). You will investigate and resolve complex patient identity issues, manage demographic corrections, and process portal access requests.  Responsibilities Research, identify, and resolve duplicate patient records, overlays, and demographic corrections. Process deceased-patient updates and execute accurate patient record merges. Review and approve MyChart proxy and access requests for minors, parents, guardians, and incapacitated adults. Utilize Epic, Care Everywhere, and other healthcare systems to investigate information thoroughly before updating medical records. Maintain strict privacy, confidentiality, and security of all protected health information. Monitor and respond to patient identity and data-integrity requests via phone and departmental mailboxes. Collaborate with HIM leadership to resolve complex record issues while meeting productivity and quality expectations. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent (RHIT or related HIM credentials are a plus). 2+ years of healthcare experience with a related certificate/degree, OR 3+ years of HIM, business, or healthcare experience. Direct, hands-on experience with Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI/MPI) and Epic systems. working knowledge of electronic medical records, patient demographic corrections, and deceased-patient workflows. Excellent attention to detail, critical-thinking abilities, and independent research skills.
