In this role, you will play a central role in supporting daily accounting functions, monthly financial closings, general ledger maintenance, cost accounting analysis, and inventory reconciliation for our manufacturing operations. Working directly with corporate finance leadership and plant operations in Iowa, this role offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your mid-level accounting experience while supporting core business operations across locations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis).
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing ERP systems; experience with Infor XA (MAPICS) is strongly preferred.

- Solid mastery of GAAP principles and cost accounting fundamentals.

Responsibilities
- General Ledger & Month-End Close: Prepare and enter journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and assist in completing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings.
- Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting: Support standard cost maintenance, variance tracking (materials, labor, overhead), and regular inventory valuation and physical count reconciliations across facilities.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing internal financial statements, standard reporting packages, and variance analysis against budgets/forecasts for executive and plant leadership.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Support: Work alongside transactional teams to review, reconcile, and audit vendor invoices, customer billing, and payment processing as needed.
- Compliance & Internal Controls: Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal controls; assist with internal and external audit preparation.
- Process Improvement: Participate in optimizing ERP workflows, refining accounting procedures, and supporting cross-functional initiatives with operations and supply chain teams.
