To support ongoing operations and financial oversight across multiple active project divisions, leadership is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller.
Serving as the crucial accounting backbone of the organization, this individual contributor role manages the complete financial picture across five operating teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, possesses deep Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting expertise, and brings analytical and communication skills to drive financial control and cash flow optimization.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of direct experience as a Controller or Senior Financial Leader.
- Industry Focus: Proven, hands-on experience managing Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting schedules within the construction industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities under tight deadlines, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Screening: Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug screening.
- Prior accounting experience with a commercial or residential subcontractor.
- Proficiency with Trimble / Vista Viewpoint construction ERP software.
- Active CPA license or Master’s degree (MBA/MS Accounting).
- Communication capabilities (English / Spanish).

Responsibilities
- WIP Schedule Management: Maintain, analyze, and oversee the monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules across five operational divisions, ensuring precise revenue recognition, over/under billing accuracy, and job-costing controls.
- Core Accounting Operations: Direct month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements; deliver clear results, risk assessments, and strategic insights directly to executive leadership.
- Cash Flow & Capital Management: Monitor working capital and cash positions; partner with operations to ensure proactive billing and timely collections practices.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain robust internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets; handle all necessary state and federal regulatory reporting and compliance filings.
- Budgeting & Planning: Compile, track, and analyze annual operating budgets and monthly forecasts.
