A well-established, privately held organization is seeking an experienced, hands-on Corporate Controller to lead financial operations and serve as the organization's chief accounting officer. Reporting directly to executive ownership, this role bridges robust day-to-day accounting execution with strategic financial oversight.

The Controller will direct the core accounting function—managing an established team that includes an Assistant Controller, Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable—while driving accurate financial reporting, inventory accounting, monthly close procedures, cash management, and annual budgeting.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Operational Analysis

• Direct monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles to deliver timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  
  
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial packages to executive ownership and external stakeholders.
  
  
• Analyze sales trends, gross margins, COGS, OpEx, and department-level budget variances.
  
  
• Reconcile monthly and annual inventory counts and resolve physical-to-book discrepancies.
  
  

Accounting Operations & Compliance

• Oversee core accounting operations across AP, AR, GL maintenance, and cost accounting.
  
  
• Manage complex account reconciliations, commissions, royalties, and vendor chargebacks.
  
  
• Design internal controls, document standard operating procedures (SOPs), and enforce governance.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal statutory filings in partnership with external CPAs.
  
  

Treasury & Banking Relations

• Maintain 13-week cash flow models to optimize liquidity, debt service, and working capital.
  
  
• Serve as primary operational liaison for commercial banks, auditors, and lending review teams.
  
  
• Manage asset-based lending (ABL) reporting, collateral tracking, and debt covenant monitoring.
  
  

Budgeting & Strategic Planning

• Lead the annual budgeting process and issue regular budget-to-actual variance analyses.
  
  
• Partner with leadership on rolling forecasts, CapEx investments, and margin-expansion initiatives.
