- Production Oversight: Manage daily activities across foam and corrugated converting, fabricating, and kitting lines.
- Labor Management: Assign labor, manage breaks, and balance staffing levels based on real-time workload and priorities.
- Quality Control: Enforce work instructions and packaging specs; verify first-article inspections (foam density, cut accuracy, etc.) to ensure zero defects.
- Operational Excellence: Lead Gemba walks and 5S audits; monitor KPIs including OEE, scrap rates, and throughput.
- Maintenance & Technical Support: Coordinate with Maintenance for machine uptime and support new product introductions (NPI) through team training.
- Reporting: Maintain ERP accuracy by reporting production quantities, scrap, labor hours, and completed work orders.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce all safety protocols and conduct incident reports to support Nefab’s zero-harm culture.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing supervisory or managerial role.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in developing a stable workforce and managing production flow.
- Lean Manufacturing: strong background in Lean, 5S, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Quality Systems: Preferred experience with ISO 9001 (auditing or implementation experience is a plus).
- Communication: Fluent in English; bilingual (Spanish) is a major plus.
- Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- ERP Systems: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or SAP is preferred.
