Responsibilities
The Quality Control Inspector (QCI) is an essential member of the team responsible for ensuring materials, processes and products meet the established standards of quality.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving
Support the Material Control Coordinator as necessary with inspection and testing of materials to ensure product conformity
- Communicate with suppliers on quality and certification / compliance issues
- Tag all suspect material for disposition
- Prepare Corrective Actions / Discrepancy Reports for materials that do not meet requirements
- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) on products as required by the customer
- Complete FA1 reports and submit them to management for review / approval
- Final Inspection…complete inspection based on QCP-1010
- Verify customer packets, including sales orders, worksheets, travelers, inspection reports, etc. are correct
- Verify product and part numbers are correct and match the Sales Order / PO
- Verify product certs meet customer requirements
- Verify labels, packing slip and stamps are on cartons and they match sales order
- Instruct Packer to seal cartons after final confirmation is complete
- Hands-on experience as a Quality Control Inspector in manufacturing
- Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tolls
- Able to read and interpret part drawings / blueprints and technical drawings
