Responsibilities

- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions
- Ability to use measuring equipment – calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, depth gauges, & size blocks
- Experience with welding a plus but not required
- Computer skills
- Analytical and mechanical skills
- Willingness to learn additional job specific skills (mechanical, electronic, machining, etc.), depending on assigned task
- Must be self-motivated and interface well with others in a team
- Ability to work well with little supervision
- Ability to work with large/heavy assemblies
- Operate mill and other manufacturing machines to produce machined parts; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies
- Plan production of parts by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
- Help implement and troubleshoot design concepts
