Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up and run CNC machinery to produce parts according to technical drawings and blueprints.
- Setup & Tooling: Select, load, and calibrate the correct tooling and fixtures for each job.
- Quality Inspection: Perform first-article and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges to ensure parts meet tight tolerances (often within $\pm 0.001$ inch).
- Adjustments: Perform basic machine offsets and adjustments to maintain part consistency throughout the production run.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine daily machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized workspace (5S).
- Documentation: Accurately log production data and material usage in the shop management system.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience operating CNC Mills or Lathes (Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak controls preferred).
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T symbols.
- Mathematical Proficiency: understanding of shop math, including decimals and basic geometry.
- Precision: Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Reliability: A track record of excellent attendance and a "safety-first" mindset.
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of an 8-10 hour shift.
