- Blueprint Interpretation: Analyze engineering blueprints and manufacturing routers to plan setup sequences.
- Process Optimization: Troubleshoot mechanical issues and adjust feeds/speeds to eliminate part defects.
- Quality Inspection: Self-inspect work using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators to hold tolerances down to $\pm0.0005$ inches.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine preventative maintenance and adhere to all EHS policies.
- Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated Davenport multi-spindle setup and operation experience.
- Mechanical Expertise: Deep operational understanding of Davenport mechanical timing and cam tracking.
- Technical Knowledge: strong understanding of cutting tool geometries and machining behaviors of various metals.
- Precision Measurement: Proficient with advanced inspection tools (comparators, micrometers, indicators).
- Attributes: strong mechanical aptitude, fine detail focus, and reliable attendance for early shifts.

Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Operation: Perform complex, from-scratch setups on Davenport multi-spindle automatic screw machines to precise blueprint specifications.
- Tooling & Mechanical Adjustments: Install, align, and adjust cams, gears, tool holders, drills, taps, threading dies, and form tools. Perform minor tool touch-ups and replacements as needed.
- Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation: Analyze engineering blueprints, finished part drawings, and complex internal manufacturing routers to plan setup sequences and determine required tooling profiles.
- Process Optimization: Trouble-shoot mechanical issues, adjust material feeds and spindle speeds, and fine-tune machine cycles to optimize cycle times and eliminate part defects.
- Mathematical Calculations: Apply shop math and geometry to verify machine timing, calculate gear ratios, and determine precise tool offsets.
- Quality Inspection: Self-inspect completed parts utilizing precision tools including micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, thread gauges, and optical comparators to maintain tight tolerances down to $\pm0.0005$ inches.
- Documentation & Maintenance: Document part setups for repetitive production runs and perform routine preventative maintenance (lubrication, chip removal, oil level checks) on assigned machinery.
- Safety & Improvement: Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives and strict adherence to all EHS Policies and Procedures.
