Responsibilities
- Safely offloading incoming shipments from trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand.
- Checking incoming goods for damages, defects, or missing items against the bill of lading.
- Moving received goods to their designated storage locations (shelves, racks, or bins).
- Participating in periodic cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure system accuracy.
- Following FIFO (First In, First Out) or LIFO (Last In, First Out) practices, especially for perishable or dated goods.
- Locating and retrieving items from warehouse shelves based on picking lists or RF scanner instructions.
- Verifying picked items for accuracy, securely wrapping/boxing them, and applying shipping labels.
- Assembling individual items into ready-to-ship kits or bundles if required.
- Loading outbound shipments onto delivery trucks securely to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Sweeping floors, disposing of cardboard/shrink wrap, and keeping aisles clear of debris to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conducting pre-shift safety checks on machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks) and reporting defects.
- Adhering to OSHA regulations, using proper lifting techniques, and wearing appropriate PPE (steel-toe boots, high-visibility vests).
