Job Description Are you a highly skilled fabricator who knows the trade inside and out—beyond just pushing a button? We are seeking a talented Press Brake Operator to join our precision manufacturing team in Blaine, MN.
In this role, you will utilize your technical expertise in material behavior, blueprint interpretation, and independent tooling setup to produce complex, high-tolerance parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Forming: Execute complex forming operations, specifically including form bumping transitions (square to round).
- Setup & Tooling: Independently select, install, and align correct top punches and bottom dies based on inside radius callouts, flange lengths, and material thickness.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings and flat layouts to determine exact forming sequences.
- Quality Inspections: Measure and inspect your own parts using calipers and micrometers to maintain strict tolerances.
- Form Bumping: Forming a specific radius on one end while holding a square flange on the other using a solid round punch and open bottom die/rubber inserts.
- Material Expertise: Clear understanding of sheet metal decimal equivalents for steel gauges (16-gauge through 10-gauge).
- Math & Geometry: A firm grasp of how to calculate bend allowances and work with "K" factors to account for material stretch.
- Experience: 2+ years of precision press brake setup and operation.

- Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate CNC or manual press brake machines to perform complex forming operations.
- Tooling Selection: Select, install, and align the correct punches and dies based on material thickness, inside radius callouts, and flange lengths.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to determine part geometry and forming sequences.
- Quality Control: Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and protractors to ensure compliance with strict tolerances.
- Material Handling: Work comfortably with various sheet metal gauges, adjusting machine settings to account for material thickness variation and bend allowances.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine machine maintenance and adhere strictly to all shop safety protocols.
