Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Final Board Inspection: Perform detailed visual and mechanical inspection of PCBs and electronic assemblies under magnification.
- Solder & Component Validation: Verify solder joints, component placement, polarity, and alignment against IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).
- Process Monitoring: Audit production lines to ensure equipment and processes are running properly and adhering to quality standards.
- Defect & Rework Management: Identify defects, initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and route failed assemblies to rework stations.
- Documentation & Sign-off: Maintain accurate quality logs in the tracking system and sign off on final approvals for shipment.
- IPC Certification: Active or recent certification in IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) is highly preferred (or IPC-WHMA-A-620 for cables/harnesses).
- Soldering Knowledge: Understanding of both automated (SMT) and manual (Thru-Hole) soldering techniques, lead-free and leaded solder chemistries.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
- Tools: Proficiency with inspection tools, including microscopes, calipers, micrometers, and basic electrical test equipment (multimeters).
