Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Floor Supervision & Leadership: Oversee daily QA operations on the production floor. Supervise, train, and mentor QA Technicians, ensuring proper coverage and adherence to testing protocols.
- Food Safety & Compliance: Maintain and enforce SQF (Safe Quality Food), HACCP, GMP, and FDA regulations. Participate actively in internal, third-party, and regulatory audits.
- Product Quality Control: Monitor chocolate tempering, viscosity, weight control, and packaging integrity. Conduct sensory evaluations (taste, texture, color) to ensure brand consistency.
- Corrective Actions & Hold Management: Manage the hold and release process for raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products. Lead root-cause analysis investigations for quality deviations and implement corrective/preventative actions (CAPA).
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate quality records, including sanitation logs, lab results, and pest control reports. Generate weekly/monthly quality metrics for leadership review.
- Sanitation & Hygiene: Partner with the Sanitation team to verify pre-operational cleanliness, allergen changeovers, and environmental monitoring programs (swabbing).
- Vendor & Customer Care: Assist in investigating customer complaints related to quality and implement steps to prevent recurrence.
- Experience: 3+ years of QA/QC experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
