We need a sharp, proactive, and audit-ready SQF Practitioner / HACCP Coordinator to step in, take ownership of our compliance systems, and lead our food safety initiatives with confidence. What You’ll Do (Essential Responsibilities):
- Drive Audit Readiness: Lead the daily maintenance, review, and continuous improvement of our SQF System, Food Safety Plans, and GMPs during our critical audit window and beyond.
- Oversee QA Oversight: Partner with a dedicated team of QA technicians to ensure all raw ingredient and finished product specifications consistently hit FDA and customer standards.
- Review & Verify: Execute timely verification of HACCP and production records, ensuring total accuracy and compliance.
- Sampling & Testing: Coordinate all internal and external micro-testing, environmental monitoring, and sensory sampling.
- Data-Driven CAPA: Monitor quality metrics (lab results, product testing, customer complaints) and lead cross-functional teams to close out non-conformances quickly.
- Train & Empower: Utilize the Alchemy platform to deliver high-impact food safety training to our production teams.
- Credentials: Certified SQF Practitioner and HACCP Certification are required. A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience within the food manufacturing or commercial bakery industry.
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations, SQF Codes, and dry/raw ingredient handling. strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Language: bilingual skills are a major plus.

Responsibilities
- SQF & HACCP System Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain the SQF system, Food Safety Plans, and GMPs. Act as the Primary or Back-up SQF Practitioner to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Auditing & Compliance: Conduct internal SQF, GMP, and HACCP audits. Ensure the facility meets all federal, state, and customer food safety requirements.
- Documentation & SOPs: Write, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Food Safety Management Program. Review production and HACCP records for accuracy, and maintain approved ingredient and packaging specifications.
- Quality Control & Testing: Manage internal/external product sampling (sensory, microbiology) and environmental testing. Inspect incoming materials, conduct random weight/temperature checks, and verify production compliance.
- CAPA & Continuous Improvement: Monitor quality metrics (lab results, customer complaints), manage non-conformances, and lead corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes to reduce food waste and prevent issue recurrence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with QA technicians, production, purchasing, and R&D to validate raw ingredient and finished product specifications and resolve quality issues.
- Training & Reporting: Deliver employee food safety training utilizing the Alchemy platform. Provide documented monthly updates to senior site management regarding SQF system maintenance.
