Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Programming & Setup: Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Catia V5, Mastercam, Fusion 360) for multi-axis mills and lathes.
- G-Code Optimization: Edit G-code and M-code manually at the machine control interface when needed to fine-tune operations.
- Tooling & Workholding: Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and design custom fixtures or workholding solutions for complex parts.
- Blueprint & Model Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) callouts, and 3D CAD models.
- Quality Inspection: Verify first-article parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMM, height gauges) to ensure adherence to tight tolerances (e.g., $\pm 0.0005"$).
- Process Improvement: Continuously reduce cycle times, maximize tool life, and eliminate scrap or rework.
