What You’ll Do (Primary Responsibilities)
- Mold Setup & Breakdown: Review the daily change schedule, prepare molds for setting, safely shut down and remove previous production molds, and set the next production mold into the press.
- Equipment Management: Disconnect, remove, and reconnect all required auxiliary and support equipment.
- Process Configuration: Enter correct processing parameters into molding machines as defined by the Master Process Control documentation.
- Quality & Document Control: Set up workstations and complete the assigned areas of the First Piece Approval documentation.
- Maintenance & Tooling: Move previous production tools to storage and initiate required maintenance work orders for tool repairs.
- Workplace Standards: Perform housekeeping around the press/workstation and identify any equipment repairs needed.
- Collaboration: Communicate any mold change issues affecting startup times and participate in team problem-solving activities.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma (or GED) OR at least three (3) months of related experience and/or training.
- Certifications/Technical Skills: Ability to operate a forklift and crane, and strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Communication: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and system documentation, and effectively communicate with all levels of the team.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and torque up to 350 lbs.

- Prepare mold to be set as required, prior to shutdown of production mold.
- Shut down production mold/ Disconnect and remove all auxiliary and support equipment.
- Remove mold from molding press.
- Set next job production mold into molding press/ Connect all required auxiliary and support equipment.
- Enter process into molding machine as defined by Master Process Control.
- Perform housekeeping around press and workstation, and initiate any work orders for repair required.
- Set-up workstation, and complete assigned area of First Piece Approval document(s).
- Initiate any tool maintenance work orders required on previous production tool.
- Move previous production tool to storage.
- Participate, as needed, in internal problem solving/improvement activities.
- Communicate issues related to mold changes that may affect scheduled startup time.
- Other duties as assigned by supervision.
